Buick Wire Wheels Installation Tips
Thank you for your purchase of chrome finished wheels from Heath's Model Works. Your wheels were finished in reflective Chrome Molotow Paint. This paint has a very authentic chrome look, but is easily dulled by handling. Try to handle your wheels with tweezers or with gloved hands. Try to only touch surfaces that are not seen once assembled. For assembly I highly recommend using E6000 Permanent Craft Adhesive. It is readily available in the box craft stores such as Michaels and Hobby Lobby. This adhesive is thick and works great for bonding vinyl rubber tires, styrene, and 3D print resin. I find the easiest way to assemble them is to first install the tire onto the wheel back, then put a bead of E6000 on the inside circumference of the wheel back (through the hole in the tire). Now insert the 3D printed wheel front. The adhesive used in the prior step will bond the 3D printed front to the wheel back (and to the tire if it is a solid one). TIP: If the model has metal axles it is best to install the wheel backs and axles to the model first, so you don't have to press on the chrome finish of the wheel front in order to seat the axle in the wheel backs.
HAPPY MODELING!
